Hello!
I'm Ferran, and I wanted to tell you a bit about myself—my story and how I went from working in some of the most dangerous favelas in the world to becoming a coach and trainer for top executives at multinational companies like Everis, Booking, Lidl, and FC Barcelona… I’ll try to sum up the most meaningful moments from the past 30 years of my life in just a few minutes… so make yourself comfortable, and I hope you enjoy it…
I was born in Barcelona, into a very scientific family—in a house full of books but without a TV… where the only “right” path was science. I did a double major in science and technology in high school to keep my options open, and I enrolled in a physics degree… the mother of all sciences. Everyone was very happy—except me. At 19, I entered the first major crisis of my life...


I dropped out of the degree and “lost a year” only to discover that what I really loved was helping people. So I enrolled in a psychology degree. Everything was going well until one day, in a developmental psychology class—and I remember it like it was yesterday—the professor talked about the active role of the student in their own development… while giving a traditional lecture as we all took frantic notes. That day I realized it made no sense and had no real value, so I stopped attending classes. But since I couldn’t tell my family I was dropping out of another degree, I developed a system: I spent the whole year working on my own projects and studied just two months a year to pass the final exams.

At 21, I began to venture into entrepreneurship and creation, and one of the biggest projects I founded was an NGO. This gave me the incredible opportunity to live and develop international cooperation projects around the world—from the most dangerous favelas in Brazil, to villages that had suffered terrible genocides, to rural areas of India without access to clean water… These journeys didn’t just fill me with unforgettable experiences, creativity, and constant learning—they also gave me a global perspective that I try to bring into everything I do. At that point, I felt like everything was starting to flow… until…

In 2015, my life took an unexpected turn. Since I was 16, I had experienced vision problems, but since I’d always been a bit of a wild kid… no one paid much attention. That changed when my brother, at the age of 16, started describing the same symptoms. We began undergoing medical tests, until they diagnosed us with a rare genetic eye disease—one that affects only 0.00002% of the population.
I remember it like it was yesterday when the doctor, right in front of my parents, said: “Ferran, it’s not that your vision is poor—you are LEGALLY BLIND. You have macular dystrophy, a condition that has reduced your vision by 90%.” And as if that weren’t enough, he added, “You also suffer from Total Irreversible Achromatopsia, which is basically extreme color blindness… meaning… your eyes only see 10% in black and white!”
And with all his empathy, he added… “You’ll have to find something else, because you won’t be able to paint anymore…”

That was one of the darkest periods of my life—I stopped painting and couldn’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. After months of struggle and research, I discovered Carol Dweck’s Growth Mindset, and I realized that in life we have two choices: we can look for excuses or for solutions—but not both at the same time.
So I chose to look for solutions. I developed systems and strategies to overcome the challenges this condition kept throwing my way. And in the process, I discovered that I was inspiring and impacting the lives of thousands of people around the world. In 2017, I had the opportunity to give my first TED Talk in Medellín, which opened the doors to professional speaking engagements.

The NGO deeply fulfilled my soul—I was making a positive impact in communities—but I still couldn’t afford an apartment in Barcelona. In 2018, we carried out major projects that were featured in national and international media (including USA Today!), and that’s when I was contacted by CEDE (Spanish Confederation of Executives and Managers). They told me they loved what I was doing in terms of community development and wanted me to bring that to their most exclusive leadership event.
I’ve always loved challenges… but I was honest with them—I told them I had no idea about leadership. Still, they decided to bet on innovation… And, to everyone’s surprise, my session ended up being the highest-rated of the entire event. That’s how executives started hiring me to do the same with their teams.

At that moment, I realized that the systems I had been developing also worked for top executives. So, at the end of 2018, I focused my efforts on creating a step-by-step method to help people reach their peak performance and achieve their biggest goals in the shortest time possible. That’s when the LEADMYMIND program was born.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work with hundreds of executives from companies like Everis, Booking, Lidl, Caixabank, Sigma…; with executive associations such as APD, DCH, ADRH… and with senior government officials.
My mission is to help leaders, individuals, and teams reach their peak performance without sacrificing their mental health. To do that, I use tools from Cognitive Behavioral Psychology and business methodologies like SMART Goals, Design Thinking, and Lean Scrum.
