In the last months, Mango invited Ferran Tort, Change Management expert, psychologist and TED speaker, to run several workshops for their European teams. Groups were international, some sessions in Spanish, others in English.

Two formats were delivered:

  • Growth Mindset workshops inspired by the work of Carol Dweck

  • Flow workshops inspired by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi

The feedback from participants has been very positive. People have valued especially that the company creates these spaces and that the sessions combine content with a lot of interaction.

Why Growth Mindset training matters for companies today

The first line of work with Mango focused on Growth Mindset.

Instead of only explaining the theory, the workshops invited people to look at their own habits and reactions when things get difficult. Through exercises and discussion, they explored questions such as

  • How do I react when I make a mistake in front of others

  • What do I tell myself when I have to do something I have never done before

  • How do I respond to feedback from my manager, my peers or my team

Participants could recognise typical fixed mindset thoughts“I am just not good at this”“This is going to expose me”

And reframe them with a Growth Mindset approach inspired by Dweck“I can improve this skill with practice”“This is uncomfortable, and at the same time it is a chance to learn”

For companies, this change of perspective is very practical

  • People feel more capable of facing new tools, new roles and new markets

  • Teams accept that change is part of the job, not an exception

  • Leaders can talk more openly about learning, instead of only about performance

When change is fast, a Growth Mindset culture becomes a core element of Change Management and a pillar for future ready leaders.

Flow workshops working with energy, not only with effort

The second type of workshop worked around the idea of Flow described by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, that state where challenge and skills are balanced, time passes quickly and people feel fully focused on what they are doing.

In the sessions, participants reflected on

  • Tasks where they naturally enter Flow

  • Tasks that feel like pushing all the time

  • Conditions that help or block their concentration

A simple image used in the room was the difference between swimming against the current and swimming with it. Many professionals feel like salmon, always going against the flow of their own strengths and interests. The invitation was to act more like a dolphin, using the current and the waves to move forward with less friction.

This is not about comfort. It is about alignment. When people know their strengths and can apply them more often, they bring more quality, creativity and sustainable energy to their role. For a company like Mango, with diverse international teams, this is key for performance and innovation.

Participative methodology and safe spaces why the format matters

Beyond the content, participants repeatedly highlighted how the workshops were delivered.

The methodology is highly participative

  • Short explanations

  • Concrete exercises

  • Time to reflect individually

  • Group discussions where people share experiences

This format creates several benefits

  • People recognise themselves in the stories of others

  • Colleagues from different countries and functions understand each other better

  • Ideas and doubts appear that would not surface in a traditional classroom session

An important part of the work is the creation of a safe and inclusive space. From the beginning, Ferran invites people to respect confidentiality, to listen and to participate at their own pace. Some exercises invite them to talk about situations where they feel blocked or insecure.

When the environment is safe, it becomes easier for more voices to participate. This has a strong impact on team climate

  • People discover that they are not alone in their challenges

  • They build trust beyond their day to day tasks

  • They see that the company takes psychological aspects seriously, not only technical skills

All this is Psychology and Trainings for Companies applied to real teams in a very concrete way.

Growth Mindset and Flow as foundations for Change Management

The central message behind both workshops is simple

Change is constant. The only variable is how prepared people feel to respond.

A Growth Mindset helps employees see change as a context to learn, instead of only as a threat. Flow practices help them connect what they do with what they are good at, which supports performance over time. Together, these two ideas give Change Management a human base that tools and processes alone cannot provide.

For Mango, working on Growth Mindset and Flow with international teams sends a clear signalThe company wants people who are ready for the future, and is willing to invest in their mindset and their way of working, not only in processes and systems.

The experience with Mango shows how powerful these topics can be when they are worked in a participative way, adapted to real teams and real challenges.

If your company also wants to develop these two skills that are central for Change Management and future ready leaders, Ferran Tort can help you with
