The UniverSES project with Everis NTT Data unfolded through several coordinated phases that integrated personal development, creative collaboration and design thinking. The goal was to build a shared identity that the entire team could recognise and embody.

During the training session we explored the foundations of design thinking as a mindset for innovation, collaboration and problem framing. This approach, which also inspires the creative methodology of Artistlove, helped the group reflect collectively on their identity. Through guided exercises participants analysed how they work, what unites them and which values they want to reinforce as a team. The process encouraged open dialogue, curiosity and co creation.

The materials of the initiative describe how teams co created a visual and conceptual identity inspired by space exploration. This narrative presented all participants as astronauts forming one crew, a metaphor that represented unity, diversity and the challenges the organisation was navigating .

Throughout the process, teams designed custom elements such as logbooks, artistic prints, digital layouts and shared symbols. These artefacts helped translate the identity into daily routines and strengthened team cohesion.

Relevance for Change Management

  • Encourages a shared mission during moments of transformation.

  • Links personal growth with collective purpose.

  • Creates cultural anchors that reinforce unity and clarity during change.

  • Uses design thinking to build alignment through reflection and co creation.

UniverSES demonstrated how mindset work combined with creative identity building and design thinking can support organisational transformation. The result was a clear unifying metaphor and a shared narrative that helped teams collaborate and move through new challenges with stronger alignment.
